Sheerness Swimming Club

At Sheerness Swimming Club we place all swimmers into squads according to their swimming ability. This structured training programme enables members to swim at the level that suits their abilities. The decision as to which squad a member is placed in, is made by the Head and Lead coaches. Members are assessed on ability, technique, stamina, commitment and behaviour. Squads are assessed every 6 months. At all levels we seek to promote the enjoyment of swimming, of setting achievable goals, personal development and the importance of a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The aim throughout is to motivate swimmers, to instil a team spirit, and to encourage a life-long love of the sport. All our swimmers are individuals with differing needs, abilities and ambitions, and we seek to cater for each and everyone of them. As swimmers progress through the club, they are able to increase the hours that they train during additional sessions, and are invited to compete in the Club’s wide range of galas, open meets and competitions. We hope our members of all ages, will enjoy our own Club Championships held once a year in November. In addition the Club supports swimmers at all levels of competition and in we have teams competing in Medways and the Kent County Championships.
